Share your time and talents with our residents

Volunteers are an integral part of the Morris Hall community, enriching the day-to-day living experience for residents and staff.

We offer flexible scheduling in both resident and non-resident areas. You can volunteer a few hours a month, or several hours a week. Men and women of all ages have contributed over 138,000 hours of volunteer service at Morris Hall since 1998. Students interested in careers in healthcare or in working with the elderly gain valuable exposure to this growing field at Morris Hall. Written recommendations for use in student volunteers’ college applications may be requested.

Morris Hall volunteers:

  • Escort residents to activities
  • Read to residents
  • Work in our gift shop
  • Offer water to residents from the beverage cart
  • Write cards and letters
  • Assist with menu selections
  • Entertain residents, design bulletin boards, play board games
  • Teach residents about their hobby or area of expertise

In return, they

  • Meet new friends & learn new skills
  • Become an important part of a vibrant community
  • Keep their interests and experience fresh by sharing them with residents
